free commission? (rant)

i have a question. Would you allow someone to have a free commission just because they are a family member? That is one thing that pissed me when I'm going to my grandma's house. Luckily, my grandma isn't the one requesting me to draw, cause c'mon, we can't say no to old people.

My cousins asked me if I can draw for them. I said they should pay me. They had a voilent reaction and said that we're relatives so it should be FREE. I laughed with them even though I'm super pissed. One of my cousin even said that I was harsh on them. Drawing for them is none of my interest and it will also use my time and energy.

I couldn't say that saying those things are insulting to artists cause they don't really know much about internet world. All they know is James Reid(a heart throb in our country) and facebook and being.... social.... seriously, though. Every time they make a conversation, it's always about people I don't know and I couldn't relate to them. I don't entirely hate them, but of they bring that up again, I won't talk with them. I just wanted to make money. I wasn't anything useful to my parents and all I do is get spoiled by them. The least I could do is work hard on earning money by drawing cause it's all I ever do all day.

If they don't want to pay, i won't draw for them. Infact, even if I did a drawing for them for free, they probably won't even cherish them that much and put it in some corner or get thrown in the trash. Most of the things I commission are OCs and I definately know they will cherish them cause it's their own creation. Do you even know what one of my cousin want's me to draw? A character from clash of clans... and that will make them happy, why? I don't even see them play clash of clans!! Why?!
